The thirty pictures made on Jerusalem old city ramparts is a short selection of a serie comprising 800 pictures, which if presented successively one after the other could create an animation like a Zoetrope set-up would do.

We choose black and white monochrome medium to prioritize the shape and pattern of the sculptural singularities of each individual arrowslit.

By looking through the arrowslit we put ourselves in the assassin’s skin or rather should I say “meurtrière” (murderer). This highlights the close relationship and somehow muddy the waters existing between the status of the photographer and the gunner which both are shooting. In the digital era the camera is a weapon but also a protection where “shooting the shooter” became the weapon of the poor in asymmetric warfare.
